This discussion follows the world theatrical premiere of the documentary in September at Cinemapolis via their Virtual Cinema platform. AMERICA STREET examines Black life in Charleston (South Caroline) in the tense months of 2015 between the killing of Walter Scott and the mass killing at the AME Church by a white supremacist.
The panel will be moderated by Patricia Zimmermann, who is the co-director of FLEFF. Comprising the panel will be professors Idrissou Mora-Kpai (Ithaca College), R.A. Judy (University of Pittsburgh), Reece Auguiste (University of Colorado, Boulder), and Janet Walker (University of California, Santa Barbara); and Brett Bossard (Executive Director, Cinemapolis).
